Our Story
The non-profit organisation Butterfly Foundation was created in 2002 by Claudio Maneri, a father who decided to change his life priorities, following the loss of one daughter. Claudio’s goal is to transform the pain of a father into love for people struggling for their own survival. On January 22nd 2004, the foundation was registered as ‘non-profit organisation’ in Italy and the ‘Butterfly’, chosen as the symbol of this process of transformation, quickly took off on a journey of love, guided by invisible hands.
Despite a large number of implemented projects, the Butterfly Foundation team comprises a few people in order to limit its operating costs as much as possible. Claudio Maneri, president and legal representative of the Foundation, takes care of fundraising and the project’s promotion and implementation, Fabio Divino, recently appointed as member of The Board is acting as vice-president, Coralie Maneri, professional photographer, is in charge of the Foundation’s image and communication, while Silvana Lenghi fills the role of administrative manager.
The Butterfly foundation, registered as a non-profit organization in 2004, recently, became a Third Sector Institution (ETS) is proud of a great number of donors, who have become friends over the time; all extraordinary people who felt in tune with this project and allowed this “butterfly” to fly higher and higher.

A Butterfly bringing water and hope (ita)
A travel on the road in the remotest and barren Ethiopian regions together with the Butterfly Foundation, which implements water wells and boundary school since many years.

Life goes on
Many parents, who decided to finance a water well or a classroom in remote areas following to the loss of their children, succeeded to give back a sense to their life; sometime the smile of a child, finally able to seat on a school bench or to drink potable and safe water, is enough to give a sense to our life and let us feel in good harmony with the world.
