The Butterfly Foundation is willing to proceed with its mission to bring water to remote areas of the Tigray Region, following the recent war that destroyed several water points, forcing people to travel long distances to fetch clean, potable water.
Thanks to the financial support of Andrea and Chiara Landi, relatives, friends, and supporters of the Lucchese football team, a fundraising campaign is underway to rehabilitate the water well at Azzera school in the village of Debre Mihret, in memory of Nicola Landi, who passed away last August 2025.
The beneficiaries will be 990 students plus their families.
The cost of the project includes new piping, fencing, and a new pump in addition to the foreseen training for its operation. is €. 4.800.
The official opening of this water well is scheduled for early October 2026.
