On 16th March 2008, in front of around one thousand people, a well drilled at a depth of 40 metres and operated by a hand pump has been opened in the tabia of Wora’ Atle, in the woreda of Irob, which is a 3-hour off-road drive away from the centre of Adigrat, Eastern Tigray, Ethiopia, thanks to the financial backing of the IL GIRASOLE Association in Chieti.
The well meets the water requirements of around 1300 people.
